Learn about WinRed's Advanced Feature Set

Updated over a week ago

This document will explain the requirements for using WinRed’s advanced feature set. These requirements may change at any time at WinRed’s discretion.

One Click Links

One Click Links allow donors to click a marketing link that takes them to a WinRed page and automatically have their donation process.

Clarity to Donor

  • Above any section with One Click Links must be this sentence as a standalone text section: “If you’ve saved your payment information with WinRed, your donation will go through immediately”

    • Once per email is not sufficient if there are One Click Links throughout the email

  • Each link must have the amount a donor is being charged in the copy/button

  • If the donor is opting into a monthly donation, then the word “monthly” must be prominent

    • Every link that is monthly must have the word “monthly” in the copy/button

    • It is not sufficient to have this once per section

    • Violation of this can result in One Click Links being disabled immediately

  • If the donor is opting into a Money Pledge, then the phrase “additional donation on [Date]” must be prominent

    • Every link that has a Money Pledge must have the phrase “additional donation on [Date]” in the copy/button

    • It is not sufficient to have this once per section

    • Violation of this can result in One Click Links being disabled immediately

Dispute Rate

  • If an organization is in the “Excessive” dispute category (1.8% dispute rate or higher across their account), then One Click Links will be disabled.

  • If an organization is “In Program” for 3 consecutive months (0.9% dispute rate or higher across their account), then One Click Links will be disabled.

Reply to Donate (R2D)

Reply to Donate allows donors to donate without having to visit a donation page.

Usage

  • There is a maximum of 2 donations per donor per month per organization on R2D (This enforcement is automated)

  • No more than 10% of your monthly donation volume (gross raised) may come from R2D donations (This is managed by the organization)

Clarity to Donor

  • The text itself must include the words “immediate”, “automatic” or similar variants

  • The text itself must include prominent identification of the organization to which user is donating

  • Example:

    • “Help us reach our end of month goal! Reply DONATE to give $5 to John Doe for Congress. Replying DONATE will immediately charge your card on file $5. Stop2End”

  • If the donor has NOT given to your organization before there must be a double confirmation to donate. Example:

    • Text one: “Will you donate $5 to the [organization] via text? Reply YES if you will!”

    • User reply: “YES”

    • Text two: “Great! Reply YES to confirm your $5 donation to the [organization]. You will be charged automatically”

    • User reply: “YES”

    • Text three: “Thank you! Your donation has been processed”

  • If the donor is opting into a monthly donation then the word “monthly” must be prominent

    • Violation of this can result in R2D being disabled immediately

Dispute Rate

  • If an organization is in the “Excessive” dispute category (1.8% dispute rate or higher across their account), then R2D will be disabled.

  • If an organization is “In Program” for 3 consecutive months (0.9% dispute rate or higher across their account), then R2D will be disabled.
