Meta Pixel (Facebook) Integration
Updated over 4 months ago

You can set up your Meta Pixels with either of the two ways below:

You will need to select one of the two options above to add your Meta Pixel. If you would like more flexibility in your Meta Pixel event tracking, we recommend setting up the pixels with Google Tag Manager with GTM Buddy as the WinRed Integration Module can only track the page view and donation (e-commerce) tracking events.

Method 1: Setting Up Meta Pixel with the WinRed Integration Module

In WinRed, click on the Utilities tab and then click on the Integrations tab. Here, you can add your Meta Pixel Integration. Once the Meta Pixel integration is selected, you can add your Pixel ID.

Make sure your Integration is set to Active before saving.

Click Save and you're done!

Method 2: Setting Up Meta Pixel with Google Tag Manager and GTM Buddy

Note: If you already have the Google Tag Manager Integration set up in your WinRed account, you can skip this step.

WinRed built an app called GTM Buddy that creates Meta Pixel events commonly set up by our clients in Google Tag Manager.

Step 1 – Set up the Google Tag Manager Integration in WinRed

You can send all donation data directly to Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics with our direct integration. To get started, you will need your container ID.

Note: If you proceed with the setup below it is recommended that you do not utilize our direct integration with Google Analytics. The two should be connected via Tag Manager.

After logging in, click on the Utilities tab, and then click on the Integrations tab. Click the green Add Integration button.

Once clicked, you will see multiple integration options. Select Google Tag Manager to add this integration.

Here, you can add an Integration Name, Integration Notes, and your Google Tag Manager Container ID.

Step 2 – Add gtm@revv.com to your Google Tag Manager Container

  1. Navigate to Google Tag Manager

  2. Click the Admin tab

  3. Click on User Management in the Container Section for the Container where you would like to add the Meta Pixel.

Step 3 - Running the GTM Buddy App to Build Meta Pixel Tags

  1. Click on Get Started

  2. Enter your container's:

    1. URL Account Number

      1. Tip: This number is the string of digits following "accounts/" in your container url.

    2. URL Container Number

      1. Tip: This number is the string of digits following "containers/" in your container url.

    3. Container Name

  3. Complete the ReCaptcha

  4. Click the Submit Button

In the Ads Tracking Configuration Portion of the App, determine which Pixels you want to create:

  • Facebook Pixel Page View - Sends Page View Events on all of your WinRed Pages

  • Facebook Pixel Purchase - Sends Purchase Events for donations made on any of your WinRed Pages

  • Facebook Pixel WinRed Petition Page Leads - Sends Lead Events on petition submission on your WinRed Petition Pages

Once you have selected the Pixels you want the app to make, click the Next button, then click the Submit button on the confirmation page.

Once the app has reached the thank you page, you can see the tags the app has created in the WinRed GTM Integration Workspace. You can continue to configure these tags to your liking. Once these tags are configured to your liking, click on the Submit button in the top right corner and publish the container.
