How to review and download your donor's data from your account

Updated over 3 months ago

WinRed makes reviewing and downloading your data easy. Below is a detailed guide that explains how to understand the donor details, as well as how to refund, cancel subscriptions, and download a CSV.

Review Donor Data

Head to the People tab and select the Donor Profiles subtab to review the donor's data.

.

Donor Profiles are used to count the number of unique emails an organization has on WinRed. The profiles are counted by profile IDs, rather than the number of individual email addresses.

Here you will be able to view two types of donors, Guests and WinRed Users.

Guests are people who have many donations but have not created an account and are counted by profile IDs. These people will have a different profile ID every time they donate, as they are not associated with an account or logged in. Their donations are not linked, and a new profile will be created each time they donate.

Guests are not a count of unique emails to your campaign. A donor is created each time someone donates on the base page.

WinRed Users are donors who have signed up for an account while or before completing their donation. These users have their personal and credit card information stored to their accounts, which means they can make a donation with just one click. Users will have the same profile ID every time they donate if logged in, and this same ID will display within reporting. Also, if they are logged in, their donations will be linked together, and a new donor will not be created each time they donate on the base page.

If a known user with an account makes a donation and has a new profile ID this means they were not signed in while donating.

As a result, someone can be counted multiple times as a donor to your campaign. This should be taken into account when managing donor information or data or referencing other sources on donor count.

You can filter by clicking the funnel button. You can narrow down donations by a donor's amount or the date they donated.

If you wish to view a complete list of your donors, leave this section blank.

Donor Profile Details

Click into the Donation, and you will be taken to a details view that will look like this.

In this view, you will be able to get a complete breakdown of the donation. You'll be able to see if there was a refund or subscription associated with it, and if there were any disputes.

A donation will appear green, like this.

Refunds

To refund the Donation, click on the green button and then a red refund button will be in the top right-hand corner.

Please note that donations that were split with other committees and are more than $100 cannot be refunded by the campaign. You will need to reach out to WinRed Support.

Click Request Refund to generate an email with all the details to send to support@winred.com.

Refunded Donations will appear in the donation details as yellow and will differentiate between partially refunded and fully refunded, like below.

Once you click on a refund, you'll be able to see the following information.

  • Transaction ID

  • Full Refunds shall display the donation amount in the format of $40.00 of $40.00

  • Partial Refunds shall display the donation amount in the format of $20.00 of $40.00

Money Pledges

If there are any Money Pledges associated with the donation, it will be distinguished with a dollar image.

You can also cancel the Money Pledge by clicking the red Cancel button. Once clicked, you'll be asked to confirm by clicking Cancel Money Pledge.

Note: This is a final decision that cannot be reversed.

Download Donor Data

To download your donor data, hit the Download button located on the far right side of your screen. This will generate a .csv that will be sent to your email with a link to download the report.

If you would like custom fields included in the download, click the carrot and select the Download with all custom fields button.

You can easily export and view all the donations associated with a specific page as well.

Here you will see all the pages on the account. To export the donations on a specific page, select the ellipses on the right-hand side of the screen. After selecting the ellipses, this drop-down menu will appear. Click on the Export Donations button to receive an emailed report of all the donations on the page.

Note: Downloading reports on certain browsers, like Safari, may result in formatting issues, causing code to display. This is an issue with the browser and we recommend using a different browser to access your data.
