Accounts on WinRed can ask donors to cover the processing fees on your donation pages! You can enable the cover fees feature on donation pages and upsells.

To enable the cover fees option on all new donations and high-dollar pages, or donation upsells, go to the Settings tab and select the Pages subtab. On this page, toggle this button to yes and hit save.

After this is toggled, the cover fees option will be visible on any applicable pages or upsells created in the future.

To enable this on an existing page, go to your Pages tab and click on the page.

From there, go to the Form Fields tab. You will see the following toggle; set it to Yes.

Once toggled, yes, a checkbox will display below the donation amounts on the landing page.

You can pre-check this value using the URL parameter:

Please note this will only work when one committee is added to a page.

To enable this on an existing upsell, navigate to the My Pages tab and select the Upsell subtab.

This is only available on a donation upsell and not a double donation or a panel card.

Select the existing donation upsell here, toggle the Allow Donors to Cover Processing Fees Button to yes, and hit save.

Once toggled, donors will see the checkbox pictured below on the associated upsell.

Please note this will only work when one committee is added to an upsell.

When a donor accepts the toggle on a landing page, they are agreeing to cover the processing fee so that 100% of their donation goes to the candidate.

The following is a breakdown of the calculation used so that the candidate receives 100% of the donation.

Here’s an example of a $10 donation to a Grassroots Donation Page:

(Donation Amount) ➗(1 - 0.0394) = Amount Covered by Donor

($10) ➗ (1 - 0.0394) = $10.41

Here’s an example of a $1,000 donation to a High Dollar Donation Page:

(Donation Amount) ➗(1 - 0.032) = Amount Covered by Donor

($1,000) ➗ (1 - 0.032) = $1033.06
