Password-Protected Pages

Learn how to set up password-protected pages.

Updated over a week ago

Password-protected pages are private and can only be seen by people who enter a password you set. This feature can be used for multiple reasons such as.

  • Creating Pages Before a Campaign Announcement

  • Internal Approvals

  • Marketing Purposes

Donation, Petition, High Dollar, and Video Pages on WinRed can all be password protected, so donors with that specific password can view the page.

How to Set Up

Click on the page you want to password protect. On the right-hand side of your screen, you'll see the Page Status toggles.

Select the Password button, and then the following menu will appear.

Set Password Specifics

After this button is toggled, input the password you would like to require in order to give access to the page

Exact Match requires the text entered in the Password Field must be entered the same, including capitalization and spacing, in order to gain access to the Donation page. We recommend this option for non-marketing-related efforts.

If it is toggled off, then the capitalization and the amount of spaces entered in the password field will not matter to gain access to the donation page.

Add a Callout

Incentivize the donor to enter the password and access the page by entering a custom callout.

Pro-tip: Use our Merge Parameters feature to customize your callout text and tailor the callout to your donors. Click here to learn more about customizing your page with parameters.

Prefill with the URL parameter

You can use a URL parameter to prefill the password box with your custom password, making it easier for the user to access the page.

Use the parameter "?page_password=" at the end of your URL string to prefill this box on the page.
